Our Complete Q-Tip Detail
The signature service everything else builds on. Your vehicle is meticulously hand washed, paint-corrected in three passes, sealed with real carnauba wax, then the interior is shampooed, extracted, conditioned and Q-Tipped — vents, gauges, dials, door jambs, trunk and all.
- Paint correction included — no upcharge, unlike shops that charge a lot extra.
- No extra charge for leather, cleaned pH-balanced and conditioned with aloe and natural oils.
- 3-step buffing for the envied Wax Shack “wet look”.
- Choose your finish — natural matte, medium gloss or high gloss on your dash and panels.
Not a 1 or 2 step buffing process — but 3
The third pass is the one almost nobody does, and it is the reason people stop you at the gas pump to ask what you do to your car.
Polish out the damage
Surface scratches and swirl marks are polished away with a high-speed buffer.
Build the depth
Paint is polished a second time with an orbital polisher for a perfectly smooth finish and a deep shine.
Feed the paint
Paint conditioner and feeder oils are buffed in slowly with a dual-action polisher — the real secret to the wet look.
Why feeder oils matter in Texas
Just like your skin, your paint loses its moisture — in the form of feeder oils — over time, and that moisture needs to be replenished. Otherwise it dries out and the result is oxidation and breakdown, much like dry skin.
Replenishing that moisture is critical to maintaining healthy, vibrant paint, especially in this climate. It is also what separates a car that has been washed from a car that has been detailed.

George founded The Wax Shack with a simple goal: treat every vehicle like it matters, and every customer like family. That standard still guides us today, with generations of the family working together to carry the business forward.
He has personally detailed enough vehicles that if you lined them up bumper-to-bumper on I-35, they would reach from Austin past San Antonio. All of our detailers are thoroughly trained and have years of experience.
