Most shops stop after one pass. The third pass is what creates the “wet look” people stop you at the gas pump to ask about.

Dual-action polisher
Paint conditioner and feeder oils are buffed in slowly and generously — the real secret to the Wax Shack wet look.
Many people don’t realize that, just like your skin, your paint loses its moisture — in the form of feeder oils — over time, and that moisture needs replenishing. Otherwise it dries out and the result is oxidation and breakdown, much like dry skin. Replenishing it is critical to healthy, vibrant paint — especially here in Texas.

The first secret to the Wax Shack Q-Tip Detail is the people doing it. We are a family business that has been around for over 40 years, and every person who works on your car is a highly trained technician paid as a skilled worker — never minimum wage employees. We care about your car.
The exterior
- Meticulous hand wash.
- 3-step buffing and paint correction, included.
- Hand waxed with REAL wax — 100% carnauba — to seal the shine and add depth and protection.
- Wheels meticulously polished by hand and protected against brake dust and road grime.
- Tires cleaned and conditioned with sling-free protectant.
- Trim and chrome polished to a brilliant shine — even tail pipe extensions — at no extra charge.
The interior
- Carpets and seats shampooed and extracted — never just steam-wanded to sink stains further in.
- Headliner cleaned to remove spots and odors.
- Door panels and dash shampooed and conditioned with UV protectant — choose matte, medium gloss or high gloss.
- Every gauge, vent and dial Q-Tipped, then finished with a horsehair automotive detail brush.
- Leather cleaned and conditioned with aloe and natural oils — no extra charge.
- Touch screens cleaned with Mother’s ReVision Touchscreen Cleaner.
- Door jambs cleaned and waxed.
- The trunk is always included and shampooed like the rest of the interior.

How much does a Complete Q-Tip Detail cost?

Do you charge extra for paint correction or leather?
No. Buffing and paint correction are included in every complete and exterior Q-Tip Detail, and there is no extra charge for leather.
Do you come to me?
Yes — you can bring your vehicle to the shop on W Koenig Lane or schedule mobile service. You get the same Wax Shack commitment either way.
How long does a ceramic coating take?
Installing the coating itself is a 24-hour process, on top of the full paint correction and preparation that is included in the price. The owner has a hand in every ceramic coating himself.
Who actually works on my car?
Highly trained technicians paid as skilled workers — never minimum wage employees. Some of our staff have been with us over 30 years, and the owner still trains every craftsman and works on cars himself.
